FSC were engaged to develop a complex temporary works structure to facilitate the remediation of the historic timber truss Pyrmont Bridge throughout the spans bridging over the water within Darling Harbour. The project involved the design of 3 primary 25 m long steel trusses connected with strut and tie members to span between the original bridge piers below the super structure. The structure was designed to support the loading applied from 24 hydraulic jacks used to deload the bridge and accommodate a work platform for personnel to undertake the remediation of the existing structure. The load taken by the system is approximately 400T.
